Situated amidst the Enchanted Mountains of Western New York is Ellicottville, a year-round tourist destination. During the winter the HoliMont Ski Area and Holiday Valley Resort are open for business, and in the summer, the resort supplies the town with a number of recreational opportunities, such as golfing and mountain biking. Ellicottville hosts a number of celebrations and festivals throughout the year, including a rodeo, a summer arts festival and a Mardi Gras Carnival. While visiting Ellicottville, guests can embark on a number of outdoor activities, such as trail riding and hot air ballooning. Frequented by locals and visitors alike, Griffis Sculpture Park offers self-guided tours of its grounds, which contain more than 200 art sculptures. About 13 mi (20km) down the road from Ellicottville is Allegany State Park, which spans the New York-Pennsylvania state line and allows camping, hunting, fishing and horseback riding.
